Another great walk today around Media City, Ordsall park and hall, along the river Medlock into the city. Overcast but no rain. Lovely ladies to walk and chat with.

At our October meeting we welcomed Sian, a professional declutterer. A very interesting and informative evening.

Another lovely walk with good company and great weather. We walked to Fletcher Moss along the river Mersey, through the park and back along the tram footpath.

At our monthly meeting we had a talk by Dr. Rachel Holt, a consultant plastic surgeon specialising in breast reconstruction. The comments members made were that she was inspirational and they had found her presentation thoroughly enjoyable. 

Our monthly walk took us from Chorlton Water Park along the river, through Chorlton Ees and back along the river. Good weather as it wasn't too warm and it didn't rain. Good company as always.

Members of Culture Club had an interesting tour of Victoria Baths in Manchester today. We were told about the history and the three pools, Turkish baths, bathing and laundry facilities. Lots of events are held there as well as being used for filming of TV programs, Peaky Blinders, and films. Blossoms used the baths to film their latest music video. It is well worth a visit for the stained glass windows alone.

Craft group members had a lovely evening making felt flowers. Still works in progress but looking great.

At our August meeting members enjoyed Line Dancing, led by our very own Lynda. We also had a fun quiz organised by Pat F. Thanks to everyone who helped.

Our July meeting saw the return of barrister turned author Simon Michael. Simon described his rise from working class boy in East London to a QC and gave us some entertaining insights into the traditions and idiosyncrasies of the Inns of Court.

Our monthly meeting this month we met Baroness Bolsover who educated us in the etiquette of the afternoon tea party. Very entertaining and informative. We had scones with jam and cream or cream and jam depending on your preference.

We have been very lucky with the weather again today while out on our monthly walk. Sale Water Park, along the Mersey, the Bridgewater Canal and back.

At our May meeting we had badges, books, flower arrangements, plants, a raffle and, of course, Resolutions.

Another great walk with lovely views. From Marple along the Peak Forest canal, through Hawk Green and back along the Macclesfield canal. Weather was perfect.

Craft group had a great time on Thursday evening getting messy and sticky when most of us tried our hand at decoupage for the first time. Great results with some still a work in progress.

This evening we welcomed a truly inspiring speaker, Figen Murray. She spoke movingly about her campaign for MARTYN'S LAW, in memory of her son, who was one of the 22 people who died in the Manchester Arena bombing in 2017. Kate was awarded the trophy for the most competition points gained during the past year.

We also had some delicious cake, a raffle and a Trading Table.

At our February meeting we enjoyed an interesting talk on the history of Manchester since 1980, by Andy Spinoza. Andy brought copies of his book, MANCHESTER UNSPUN and judged our Manchester poetry competition.

The No Boundaries Book Group met for a belated lunch at the Heaton Pub, Heaton Mersey.

What an amazing turn out for our first meeting of the year on one of the coldest evenings. We had an interesting talk by John Schofield, guide writer and broadcaster, on significant women of our area.

Ginspiring Women had two teams at the quiz night at Rock Salt, Moor Top. We came second and third!

We had a Christmas party at our December meeting. We observed Elf and Safety, the choir entertained us, we played games, had a reading of Joyce Grenfell's "Nativity Play" and had an amazing raffle.

One of our most popular speakers was Carl Austin-Behan, the youngest mayor in Manchester City's history and the first openly gay mayor. He was an interesting and entertaining speaker and his story was very thought provoking and informative.

We held another very successful coffee morning this time to raise funds for our WI. We sold cakes, refreshments and had a jarbola.

Shirley, one of our members, took us on a guided history walk of Didsbury. We raised funds for our chosen charity-Stockport Feeding the Community.

At our May meeting we celebrated the coronation of King Charles III. We were entertained by a string quartet, held a no bake cake competition and a plant sale.

The sun certainly shone on us today as we resumed President's Coffee Morning. 20 plus members enjoyed coffee and a catch up at The Heaton Pub.

Ginspiring Women had a lovely evening at Stockport Gin. We had a talk by the owner Paul about the history of gin and his company, which he owns with wife Cheryl. We also got to taste samples of all their gins and had a drink on arrival and after the tour.

Our April speaker was Mairead Smith who gave us a fascinating insight into her life at the BBC. 

We held a very successful coffee morning to raise funds for our chosen charity, Signpost Stockport for Carers. Thank you to all who donated cakes and chocolate and helped on the day.

Our March meeting was a talk by Simon Michael "My Life in Crime”. Simon is a former barrister and novelist and gave an interesting talk about his life in these professions.
